Import your car from Singapore to the UK
We collect your car in Singapore, ship it, clear UK customs, test it in our own IVA lane and register it with the DVLA. One company, from start to finish.
Relocating or buying, we handle both
You're moving back to the UK
If you have lived abroad for at least a year and owned the car for six months, it can usually come home without import duty or VAT under Transfer of Residence relief.
Moving home with your carYou've found a car there
Right-hand drive, built for Asian markets and looked after in a small country. We check what it will need before you pay, then bring it over.

From Singapore to Castle Donington
Roughly 4 to 8 weeks at sea, through the Suez Canal or around the Cape of Good Hope depending on the sailing, then by road to our site for customs, testing and registration.
How we shipWhy your car's age matters
In Singapore, ten years decides your PARF rebate. In the UK, it decides whether the car needs an IVA test or an MOT. The build year settles both.
Type a year and the rules that apply to it light up.
- Under 10 years
IVA test
It needs Individual Vehicle Approval before the DVLA will register it. We test in our own private lane, every week. Still under ten on the LTA clock? It may also earn a PARF rebate when you deregister it.
- 10 years and over
MOT and modifications
No IVA. It needs the usual modifications for UK roads and an MOT to prove it is roadworthy, then straight to registration.
- 30 years and over
Historic tax rate
In original specification it may qualify as historic: no import duty and VAT at 5% instead of 20%. Assessed car by car, so we check before you commit.
- 40 years and over
No MOT required
Old enough that an MOT is not needed to register it, provided it has not been substantially changed.
Why it is quicker with us
Most of the delays on an import happen in the gaps between companies. A container waits at the port, a test date is weeks away, a form goes back with one box wrong.
We closed the gaps by owning the steps. That's time and money saved for you.
-
The first privately owned testing site in the UK
IVA, MSVA and MOT tests happen in our own lane, every week. No waiting for a government slot.
-
HMRC CDS entry agents
Our own customs staff make the import entry, so you pay the right amount and nothing extra.
-
We unload our own containers
Your container comes to our facility, not a rushed port warehouse. We take as long as it needs.
-
A dealer-level DVLA account
It lets us register imported cars within 10 working days, whatever the age or type.
-
A portal you can check
Follow the car from Singapore to Castle Donington online, with estimated sailing and arrival dates.
-
Storage and delivery
Indoor or outdoor storage, kept charged and on the key. Open or enclosed delivery to your door.
Before the car leaves Singapore
Three things on your side. We send you a guide for each.
-
Check your rebate
Look up the car on OneMotoring to see the PARF and COE rebate due. Exporting the car earns a rebate just as scrapping it does.
-
Don't book the scrapyard
Deregistering means the car is scrapped or exported. Tell the dealer or agent you are exporting before anything is arranged.
-
Deregister online
The LTA deregistration is an online process now. We line up the timing with collection and the sailing date.
Common questions
How long does it take to bring a car from Singapore to the UK?
The sea crossing takes roughly 4 to 8 weeks. Add a little time either side for collection, loading and customs, then registration once it reaches our yard. We register through a dealer-level DVLA account, usually within 10 working days.
Will I pay import duty and VAT?
Usually 10% import duty and 20% import VAT. If you are moving back to the UK with a car you have owned for at least six months, after living abroad for at least twelve, Transfer of Residence relief can remove both.
Do I need to deregister the car in Singapore first?
Yes. The car has to be deregistered with the LTA before it leaves, and deregistering is what triggers any PARF or COE rebate due to you. It is done online now, and we send you a guide so nothing gets missed.
My car is right-hand drive. Does that make it easier?
It does. Singapore drives on the left like we do, so the headlights already dip the right way. The usual job is converting the speedometer to read in miles per hour, plus any lighting the IVA test asks for.
The car is already in the UK. Can you still help?
Yes. If it has already landed we handle customs clearance, any modifications, the IVA or MOT and DVLA registration.
