Shipping a car from Singapore

We ship cars from Singapore in containers, because a car that's strapped down inside steel arrives looking the way it left.

Our standard

Shared container

Your car shares a container with other cars heading the same way. You share the cost of the box, which makes it the most cost-effective way to ship from Singapore, and it gets the same careful loading and strapping as any other.

  • The most cost-effective option
  • Fully enclosed for the whole voyage
  • Unloaded by us, not a port warehouse
On request

Dedicated 20ft

A container to itself. Worth it for a high-value car, or when you want to control exactly when it sails rather than wait for a shared box to fill.

  • Sole use of the container
  • Sails on your timetable

The route by sea

The crossing takes roughly 4 to 8 weeks. Depending on the sailing, ships go through the Suez Canal or around the Cape of Good Hope. Your portal shows the estimated sailing and arrival dates.

Where cars leave Singapore

Containers are loaded at the warehouse and sail from the Port of Singapore terminals at Pasir Panjang or Keppel, or from Jurong Port, depending on the shipping line.

What happens at each end

In Singapore

We arrange collection from your address to the loading warehouse. Our overseas agents are people we've worked with for years, and they load your car with the same care we would. It leaves through one of the Port of Singapore terminals or Jurong Port.

At sea

The crossing takes roughly 4 to 8 weeks. Marine insurance covers the car in a total loss or significant damage scenario for the whole journey, and your online portal shows estimated sailing and arrival dates so you're never left wondering.

In the UK

Our customs team clears the container, then it comes by road to our own facility in Castle Donington. That gives us direct control of it from the port and avoids long port waiting times. Unloading usually takes about an hour, depending on how the cars were loaded, and we take as long as it needs.

Why not roll-on, roll-off? We prefer containers for the safety and security they give the car. If you've a particular reason to ask about other methods, ask, and we'll give you a straight answer.

Shipping questions

How long does shipping from Singapore take?

Roughly 4 to 8 weeks at sea, depending on the sailing and the route. Your portal shows the estimated sailing and arrival dates.

Shared or dedicated container?

Shared is our standard from Singapore: your car shares a container with other cars, so the cost of the box is shared too. If you would rather have a container to yourself, we can supply a dedicated 20ft container.

Is the car insured while it is at sea?

Yes. We arrange marine insurance for the duration of the shipment, covering the car in a total loss or significant damage scenario.

Can I put belongings in the car?

Ask us before you pack anything. Loose items in a car can complicate customs and cause damage in transit, so the safest default is an empty car.
